Magic the Gathering announces Marvel Spider-Man Set in 2025!
New York Comic Con was held over the weekend (Oct 17th-Oct 20th 2024) and Magic the Gathering were there with the spiciest reveals! Not only did we get the announcement of a Secret Lair x Marvel drop featuring Black Panther, Captain America, Iron Man, Storm and Wolverine but we also found out what 2025's Marvel Set would be themed around: your friendly neighbourhood Spider-Man!
That's right, Spidey and the gang are coming to Magic the Gathering. If there was ever a time for the greatest Multiverse Crossover ever, it's now - Magic fans and Marvel fans can come together as one as they combat each other with iconic Spider-Man characters! There are no card reveals at this moment in time, but as soon as they begin dropping we will be updating this blog - so keep an eye!
But what do we know of this set so far? We'll go through some FAQs for you now.

Q: Is the Spider-Man set the previously mentioned Marvel set, or is it something else?A: You'd be correct in assuming that the upcoming Spider-Man set is the aforementioned Marvel set releasing in 2025! The only other Marvel release from Magic the Gathering would be the Secret Lair x Marvel drop.
Q: What products can we expect with this set?
A: As this is a Universes Beyond set, we're expecting to see Beyond Boosters (introduced with Universes Beyond: Assassin's Creed), Collector Boosters, a Bundle and some Commander Decks.
Q: Who will be the Commanders in the Commander Decks?
A: As we don't know any information about products at this moment in time, we can only speculate who the Commanders will be. We'd assume Spider-Man, Miles Morales, Doc Ock and the Green Goblin!
Q: When will the Spider-Man set release?
A: As far as we're aware, prior to Spider-Man is a Final Fantasy Universes Beyond release in Q2 2025. That means we'll likely see Spider-Man reach the tables of Magic the Gathering around Q3 - or between July and September 2025.
Q: Will there be accessories?
A: If we're going on the assumption that this set will be the same as Universes Beyond: Assassin's Creed and prior, we'd assume there would be no accessories. But, with Marvel having such a massive fanbase in general, there's a chance Magic the Gathering could partner with Ultra Pro once again to bring us some wicked Spider-Man playmats, deckboxes and sleeves. They released Fallout 4 accessories, so hope is not lost!
Q: Can we pre-order from Total Cards?
A: We know how eager you all are to get pre-ordering! Until we know more about the products available, we won't be posting pre-orders just yet. But as soon as they're available for you to secure, we'll be shouting about it all around town so keep a close eye on our site!
