Everything you need to know about Lorcana's Into the Inklands and more!

Disney did not hesitate long after the release of Rise of the Floodborn to announce their latest set; Into the Inklands! This highly anticipated set is the third chapter since August 18th, 2023 where we saw Lorcana's grand debut into the TCG world, and we are beyond excited to see what comes with this set! Into the Inklands is expected to bring new gameplay, new decks and new cards to get buzzed about! We can expect new Disney properties to enter the fray, including; DuckTales, TaleSpin and Treasure Planet! With the release date of late February/early March not too far away, let's have a more in-depth look into what's coming!

New Card Type!

Arguably, the biggest thing about this set is the newest card type; Locations. These cards are essentially iconic locations throughout Disney IP, each location has an ink cost to play and also feature a brand new symbol (more on that later). The one and only location reveal from Disney has been Forbidden Mountain, Maleficent's Castle, and it costs 2 Ink to play and has a Willpower of 6.

Locations will enter play as active, meaning on the first turn they are put down they can be used. Characters that are active can move onto locations which will activate their effects. Furthermore, a Character doesn't need to be "dry" to move. Moving a character to a specific location requires you to be able to pay the move cost of that specific location. This is displayed on the left above the rules text, this is the new symbol we were referencing before. So, for Forbidden Mountain this would cost 1 move. You may also be wondering why Locations have a Willpower amount, this is because much like Character cards they can indeed be challenged but do not deal any damage back. Also, any characters in a Location do not suffer negative effects upon banishment, so they don't also get banished alongside the Location.

How many cards?!

Can you believe there's going to be a whopping 204 cards in this latest set?! Wait...that sounds familiar...it looks like the standard for Lorcana is to produce 204 cards in the set, but that doesn't include the extras such as hidden Enchanted Rares and puzzle cards. We're hoping to see these within the set, but nothing has been said as of yet regarding this. Nevertheless, we're going to show you the reveals so far to really get you hyped for the reveal!

Card Reveals

Now the best bit, the cards. Since December 2023, Lorcana has been dropping some reveals here and there to get everyone riled up and excited for March. We've seen a few of our favourite characters trickle through, such as Eeyore and Mama Odie! But that's enough waffling, let's look at those cards!
