Mega Brave and Mega Symphonia sets revealed for Pokemon TCG!
Over the weekend Japan's Champions League Tournament took place, and we finally got an official reveal for the first sets of the MEGA block! Mega Brave and Mega Symphonia will release in Japan on the 1st of August and features Mega ex Pokemon such as Mega Lucario ex and Mega Gardevoir ex. This set is designed to promote Pokemon Legends: Z-A (which launches the 16th of October 2025) and will feature Pokemon from the game, much like Astral Radiance did for Pokemon Legends: Arceus.
We know that Mega Brave and Mega Symphonia will feature 63 cards each before secret rares, and introduces full art Item cards. There have been some card reveals too, including Mega Venusaur ex, Mega Latias ex and full art Rare Candy and Night Stretcher.
The last time we saw Mega Evolutions was 2016 during the XY era, and this comeback has received positive responses from players and collectors alike! There is a slight difference from the 2016 era Mega Evolutions, which evolved from the matching Basic Pokemon (so Charizard-EX evolved into M Charizard-EX without Charmander or Charmeleon.) With Mega Brave/Mega Symphonia, the whole evolution line is involved - and you wont need a Gardevoir ex to evolve into Mega Gardevoir ex, you get there straight from Kirlia.
Not only that, but the Japanese set will release alongside their version of a Trainer's Toolkit. The Premium Trainer Box MEGA comes with a variety of staple cards, 10 packs of the new MEGA sets and a slew of other items needed to get started in the TCG.
We're excitably awaiting any news on our English Counterpart, slated to release on the 26th of September. In the meantime, be sure to check back here regularly for any updates regarding Mega Brave and Mega Symphonia!
