The Pokémon Company International has officially announced the next major expansion coming to the Pokémon Trading Card Game. Mega Evolution Ascended Heroes will be available in early 2026 at retailers worldwide, introducing a huge lineup of new cards, characters and locations inspired by the Pokémon Legends: Z-A video game.
Trainers can look forward to the return of Mega Evolution Pokémon ex, brand new Trainer’s Pokémon and an exciting new rarity that is sure to become a fan favourite.
Mega Evolution Pokémon ex Take Center Stage
Mega Evolution Ascended Heroes brings a powerful collection of Mega Evolution Pokémon ex into the TCG, led by the newly revealed Mega Dragonite ex. The expansion also features returning Mega Evolution Pokémon ex with updated artwork, giving collectors and players fresh versions of classic favourites.

Alongside these, the set introduces new Trainer’s Pokémon to discover throughout the expansion.
Introducing the Mega Attack Rare
A brand new rarity called Mega attack rare makes its debut in this expansion. These cards showcase attack names written in Japanese katakana, a style first previewed at the 2025 Pokémon World Championships.
This new rarity brings a bold and distinctive look to Mega Evolution cards and is expected to be a major highlight for collectors.

Play It Early With Pokémon TCG Live
Players will be able to experience Mega Evolution Ascended Heroes ahead of its physical release. The expansion will launch digitally in Pokémon TCG Live on January 29, 2026 for iOS, Android, macOS and Windows devices.
Players can open new packs, battle with Mega Evolution Pokémon ex and receive login bonuses tied to the release.
