Pokemon announces Black and White themed Enhanced Expansion Packs for 2025!

Releasing on June 6th 2025 in Japan will be brand-new Enhanced Expansion Packs similar to 151, aptly named "Black Bolt" and "White Flare". Themed around Reshiram and Zekrom, these packs will feature all 156 Pokemon from the Unova region and will contain mirror holofoil cards (reverse holos) within the set.

With Legends Z-A on the horizon, it's surprising that a Unova themed set would be announced prior to something in line with the upcoming Kalos game. This could certainly hint at a possible remake/remaster of the Black & White games - potentially improving upon the feedback from Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl. Only time will tell whether this becomes a reality.

Black Bolt and White Flare will have a Card File Set release alongside it, which includes a binder, a Victini promo card and packs of the sets. As 2025 seems to steer towards a focus of Owner Pokemon, such as The Glory of Team Rocket which will feature Rocket's MewTwo ex, there's also potential for Black Bolt and White Flare to feature owned Pokemon like the N's Reshiram we saw revealed at Worlds.
