Experience Commander in a draft format!

Experience the fan favourite commander format with an awesome draft experience! The introduction of Commander Legends allowed for a draft version of the Commander format. A draft is a great way to experiment and learn the cards of a set. If you're not sure how to play a draft, it is very simple.

Here is a list of everything needed to play draft:

  • Three Commander Legends draft boosters per player (we recommend 4 players)
  • A selection of basic lands (Plains, Islands, Swamps, Mountains, and Forests). You will mostly likely need a lot of these.

The process of setting up a commander draft is very simple:

  • Each player opens a Commander Legends booster pack and picks two cards from the pack in secret
  • Everyone then passes the remainder of their booster to player on their left, each player then picks a card from the pack they just received before passing again.
  • These steps are repeated until all the cards in the first packs have been selected.
  • This process is repeated with the second pack, but instead the remaining cards passed to the right. The third pack is once again passed to the left.
  • Once all the packs have been opened and all cards selected, everyone builds a deck from the cards they have gained. You may add as many basic lands to your deck as you’d like, but each deck must have exactly 60 cards. Unlike regular commander, this format doesn't include the singleton rule and players can play as many copies of a card that they draft. Players may also use one or more The Prismatic Pipers as their commander, even if they didn't draft one.

You can pick up a draft booster box for Commander Legends in the related products section below. Each box contains 24 packs, which is enough to support two draft commander games. You can also view our entire range of Magic the Gathering products by clicking the link below.
