The Shin Megami Tensei Trading Card Game can be divided into two distinct "versions", the original produced by Enterbrain between 1997 and 2003, and the "Nocturne" version produced by Media Factory starting in 2003.
The two versions have several notable gameplay differences and as such the Media Factory game cannot be considered a continuation of the Enterbrain game.
For the 30th anniversary of the franchise, a new set of cards was relesed called Monument of Reincarnation, it contained 94 cards that were redesigns of previously released cards, 9 holographic versions of previously of previously released cards, 22 new cards based on Shin Megami Tensei V, a 9-pocket card binder, a poster of the included cards, and a storage box
