If you control no monsters, you can Tribute Summon this card face-up by Tributing monsters from your hand and/or your opponent's field. You can only use the (1) and (2) effects of this card's name each once per turn.
(1) When your opponent activates a card effect in the hand, GY, or banishment and this card was Normal Summoned (Quick Effect): You can negate that effect, and if you do, destroy that card.
(2) During the Battle Phase (Quick Effect): You can reveal your entire hand; change all opponent's monsters to Defense Position.
Why It's Interesting
A Tribute Summon that can eat your opponent's monsters is a rare and powerful mechanic, and a built-in Quick Effect negate for hand, GY, and banishment activations gives this retro-flavoured boss real teeth in the modern game. It's a fitting tribute to one of Konami's most beloved classic heroes as the Mystical Ninja marks his 40th anniversary.
