The Pokemon Company has revealed a new Pikachu card from the upcoming 30th Celebration set, drawn by legendary series artist Ken Sugimori. As Sugimori was Pokemon's original character artist, this Pikachu is fittingly numbered the very first card in the set and features the character's original, chubbier proportions as a nod to its 1996 design.

Illustrated by Ken Sugimori, this Pikachu is one of 30 unique holographic Pikachu cards in the set — one per booster pack — each created by a different artist as a tribute to illustrators who've shaped the Pokemon TCG over three decades. Every card in the set carries a glimmering "fireworks" foil layer.
Japanese Print Variant
The Japanese printing of the same Sugimori-illustrated Pikachu, giving collectors a look at how the card's foil "fireworks" treatment reads across both regional releases.
30th Celebration releases worldwide on September 16, 2026, with English booster packs currently listed for pre-order with Total Cards.
