Yu‑Gi‑Oh! TCG 2-Player Starter Set revealed for October!

Konami has just revealed a great new way to get into the game of Yu-Gi-Oh! The all-new 2-Player Starter Set is a welcome addition, especially given the introduction of more complicated mechanics since the game's origins. The starter deck has a confirmed release date of 26th October 2023 and will be aimed specifically at brand-new players!

The set will not only include 2 decks that are ready-to-play right out of the box but also an instructional comic book designed to teach the fundamentals of play. The 64-page comic book walks you through a scripted (non-randomized) Duel to teach Yu‑Gi‑Oh! TCG basics from the beginning, from your first card draw, through Summons and battles, to the Extra Deck’s Synchro and Xyz Monsters. After the book has been completed, a player can run through the scenario again or simply utilise the 2 decks to continue learning the game through regular random play.

No cards have been revealed from the decklists as of yet, but rest assured we will post updates when they are finally revealed! Keep your eyes open on our blog and social profiles for any future updates.

The set has already received a positive response from the Reddit communities and we think it is an inventive and fresh way of introducing the game to new, and especially younger, players. We simply can't wait for this to drop in October and for the pool of Yu-Gi-Oh! players to explode!

Each 2-Player Starter Set includes:

  • 2 ready-to-play 44-card Decks: (a total of 80 Common Cards and 8 Ultra Rare Cards)
    • 2 x 40-card Main Decks
    • 2 x 4-card Extra Decks)
  • One 64-page teaching comic book

Be sure to pre-order now as we expect this Deck to be super popular and stock won't last long!
