Alpha, the Master of Beasts

Beast - Effect
Cannot be Normal Summoned/Set. Must first be Special Summoned (from your hand) while the total ATK of all monsters your opponent controls is more than that of all monsters you control. You can target any number of Beast, Beast-Warrior, and/or Winged Beast monsters you control; return them to the hand, then, return face-up monsters your opponent controls to the hand, equal to the number of cards you returned to the hand, also for the rest of this turn, "Alpha, the Master of Beasts" you control cannot attack directly. You can only use this effect of "Alpha, the Master of Beasts" once per turn.

Shaddoll Schism

Trap — Continuous

Then, you can send to the GY 1 monster your opponent controls with the same Attribute as that Fusion Summoned monster. You can only use this effect of "Shaddoll Schism" once per turn.

Triple Tactics Talent

Spell

  • Draw 2 cards.
  • Take control of 1 monster your opponent controls until the End Phase.
  • Look at your opponent's hand, and choose 1 card from it to shuffle into the Deck.

You can only activate 1 "Triple Tactics Talent" per turn.

Chaos Ruler, the Chaotic Magical Dragon

Dragon - Syncrho - Effect

You can only use this effect of "Animadorned Archosaur" once per turn.

Ghost Mourner & Moonlit Chill

Zombie - Tuner - Effect
If your opponent Special Summons a monster(s) face-up (except during the Damage Step): You can discard this card, then target 1 of those face-up monsters; negate its effects until the end of this turn, also if that face-up monster leaves the field this turn, its controller takes damage equal to its original ATK. If you control no other monsters: You can Special Summon 1 "World Legacy Token" (Machine/DARK/Level 1/ATK 0/DEF 0) to both players' fields in Defense Position. You can only use each effect of "Girsu, the Orcust Mekk-Knight" once per turn.

Best Deck Cores

Adamancipator

This archetype revolves around Synchro Summoning and excavating the top cards of your Deck to summon Level 4 or lower Rock monsters. This action of cards excavating by the effect of their Tuners reflects their job as gemstone explorers; they 'explore' deep into the 'cave' (player's Deck) to seek for any gemstones they could possibly find (note that the Tuners can Special Summon any Level 4 or lower Rock monsters, not limited to the "Adamancipator Crystal" monsters alone). The Tuners can even be easily Special Summoned from the hand following certain requirements; "Adamancipator Analyzer" may take the first move to Special Summon himself via his "Cyber Dragon"-esque effect, then the player can proceed to further Special Summon the other two "Adamancipator" Tuners, "Seeker" and "Researcher". Before you excavate any cards through their effects, you might want to use the effect of their exclusive Field Spell "Adamancipator Laputite" first, to guarantee that you will later Special Summon any "Adamancipator Crystal" of your choice for the sake of Synchro Summon.

You may also want to halt further Synchro Summoning by keeping some amount of "Adamancipator" monsters on your field during certain situations; for example, by providing enough "Adamancipator" monsters on your field, you can use the Trap "Adamancipator Relief" to destroy cards on any field. The Trap requires you to Tribute any number of "Adamancipator" monsters to destroy that many target cards +1 on the field. The best "Adamancipator" monsters to Tribute are the crystals, since they are useful while in the GY to unlock the second effects of the Synchro Monsters of the same Attribute. Furthermore, in a case where they are resting in the GY along with the Synchro Monsters, they have an effect to recycle themselves and the Synchro Monsters from the GY back into the Deck.

@Ignister

The effects of the Main Deck monsters aid in generating advantage; those that correspond with a more specific Summoning method support that method and often have Special Summoning effects, while those corresponding to a less specific Summon method focus on other methods of card advantage.

In the anime, the Extra Deck monsters require using a monster as the same Attribute as material for their Summon. Their effects are generally stronger when the player controls multiple "@Ignister" monsters, and they have a strong focus on allowing their effects to activate through successful battle.

The primary combo of an "@Ignister" Deck is to activate "Ignister A.I.Land" and use its effect to continually Special Summon "@Ignister" monsters to the field for use as Link Material for "Dark Templar @Ignister", then via the effect of "A.I.Land", Special Summon a monster to a zone that "Dark Templar" points to, triggering its effect to revive as many Level 4 or lower "@Ignister" to the zones that it points to. The release of "Dark Infant @Ignister" has bolstered this strategy even further; in addition to searching "Ignister A.I.Land" upon its Link Summon, "Dark Infant" can be Link Summoned to a zone "Dark Templar" points to to trigger the latter's revival effect, while the second effect of "Dark Infant" can then move itself to the zone it points to and change its Attribute, thereby not only allowing "Dark Templar" to revive up to three "@Ignister" monsters, but also providing a different Attribute for use in Link Summoning the Deck's most powerful monster; "The Arrival Cyberse @Ignister". Using "Dark Infant" to search "Ignister A.I.Land" also allows for more reliable flexibility in using the effect of "Pikari @Ignister" to search for "A.I." Spells and Traps.

Dogmatika

The "Dogmatika" archetype is thematically focused on combating Extra Deck monsters. To this end, cards in this archetype commonly feature two kinds of effects: effects that can only be activated by the presence of monsters summoned from the Extra Deck on the field or in the Graveyard, and effects that send monsters from the Extra Deck directly to the GY. Fitting the theme, many cards in this archetype also feature effect conditions that restrict the player from Special Summoning from the Extra Deck.

The Level 4 "Dogmatika" monsters, "Ecclesia", "Adin", and "Theo", all share the following two effects:

"Cannot be destroyed by battle with a monster Special Summoned from the Extra Deck."
"[Once per turn,] If a monster Special Summoned from the Extra Deck is on the field: You can Special Summon this card from your hand."
Between these three, the individual effect of "Ecclesia" overshadows that of the other two, since she can search any "Dogmatika" card from the Deck to the hand when Normal or Special Summoned, at the cost of preventing the player from Special Summoning from the Extra Deck for the rest of the turn.

The Level 8 and 11 "Dogmatika" monsters have varying effects to Special Summon themselves and various individual effects.

  • "Fleurdelis" can Special Summon herself as a Quick Effect if an Extra Deck monster is on the field, negate a monster's effects for a turn if the player controls another "Dogmatika" monster when she's Special Summoned, and can also boost the ATK of "Dogmatika" monsters. She is commonly used as a disruption and an attack booster to push for game.
  • "Maximus" can Special Summon itself by banishing an Extra Deck monster from the GY, and has an effect to have both players send 2 monsters from the Extra Deck to the GY. It is the main method by which the archetype strategically bins Extra Deck monsters to gain advantage out of them.
  • "Ashiyan" can Special Summon itself when an Extra Deck monster is sent to the GY outside of the damage step, and can recover "Dogmatika" cards in the GY and boost ATK, making for a useful recovery option.
  • "Dogmatika Nexus", the Level 11 boss monster for the archetype, can Special Summon itself by banishing 4 Extra Deck monsters from the GYs, and can destroy all opposing Attack Position monsters when it attacks a Special Summoned monster. While definitely powerful, its summoning conditions take some effort to fulfill quickly.

Melffy

The effects of the Main Deck monsters aid in generating advantage; those that correspond with a more specific Summoning method support that method and often have Special Summoning effects, while those corresponding to a less specific Summon method focus on other methods of card advantage.

"Melffy" is an archetype focused on Xyz Summoning and disruption tactics. Every Main Deck "Melffy" monster can Special Summon themselves from the hand on the player's End Phase, and return themselves to the hand when attacked or if the opponent summons a monster, along with some other effect meant to generically support Beast monsters, such as adding them to the hand, special summoning them or recovering them from the graveyard.

The Xyz Monsters of the archetype have effects based on having many Xyz Materials, with the Deck's boss monster, "Melffy Mommy" being able to be Xyz Summoned with many materials at once, and gaining powerful effects once it has 5 of them, turning it into essentially a Beast "Yubel". It's very defensive in nature and stronger in grind games, attempting to gather as many resources as it can for a big attack at the end, mainly through the trap "Melffy Playhouse", which can bounce most of your opponent’s field and increase your Xyz Monsters' ATK to ludicrous levels for a final OTK.

Tri-Brigade

The "Tri-Brigade" archetype revolves around Special Summoning Link Monsters by banishing "Link Materials" from their Graveyard, and performing combos with Beast, Beast-Warrior, and Winged Beast Type (nicknamed "tri-type") monsters.

All Main Deck "Tri-Brigade" monsters share the same following once per turn effect:

"You can banish any number of Beast, Beast-Warrior, and/or Winged Beast monsters in your GY; Special Summon 1 Beast, Beast-Warrior, or Winged Beast Link Monster from your Extra Deck, with Link Rating equal to the number banished, also you can only use Beast, Beast-Warrior, and Winged Beast monsters as Link Material for the rest of this turn."
This shared effect allows the "Tri-Brigade" archetype to easily Special Summon high-Link Rating Link Monsters with little loss to their on-field card advantage, as long as they have enough monsters in the Graveyard.
