What we know so far about YGO Rage Of The Abyss!

Update - 20/08/24

We've just added a bunch of new cards, that have since been confirmed, in their English version. Not only that, but Konami confirmed a new card last night that will be one of the Ultra Rares you can win in the YuGiOh! Rage Of The Abyss Premiere Event. Mimighoul Charm is a continuousĀ spell card,Ā Mimighoul is a new deck archetype introduced in YuGiOhs most recent set,Ā The Infinite Forbidden.

This card reads "Once perĀ Chain, during theĀ Main Phase, if a "Mimighoul"Ā monsterĀ your opponentĀ controlsĀ is flippedĀ face-up: You can randomly choose 1Ā face-downĀ card in your opponent'sĀ Extra Deck, and if it is a monster that can beĀ Special Summoned, Special Summon it to yourĀ field, but it cannotĀ activateĀ itsĀ effectsĀ thisĀ turn. If it wasn't, or couldn't be Special Summoned,Ā banishĀ that card. You can only use this effect of "Mimighoul Charm" twice per turn".

Given this archetype isĀ just over a month old, this card provides crazy support (especially given that the strategy of Mimighoul is to summon them on your opponents side of the field, stopping them from summoning monsters).Ā

Yugioh Rage of the Abyss is not far from release, coming shortly after Infinite Forbidden. This set has generated a lot of excitement among players and collectors alike, so let's dive into everything we know about it so far!Ā We have listed all the revealed cards below, they're currently in Japanese but we'll be sure to update them once the English versions and card designs have been confirmed.

This set includes 100 brand new Yugioh cards, which is a refreshing change from the recent reprint sets we've been getting. For water enthusiasts, this is a perfect opportunity to dive into new strategies and strengthen existing ones. The brand-new equipment enhances Xyz Summoning in innovative and exciting ways, making it a must-try for any duellist eager to explore new tactics.

One of the standout features of this set is the inclusion of Quarter Century rare cards. Over the past year, these rare cards have become highly sought after by both players and collectors. Their unique appearance and limited availability make them a prized possession in any collection, and Rage of the Abyss continues this trend.

In addition to these exciting new features, Rage of the Abyss introduces a new monster inspired by Big Jaws. This Level 4 Fish monster has a unique ability: it can Special Summon itself from your hand if a Spell Card is activated during the turn. This ability adds a new layer of strategy and flexibility, making it a valuable addition to many decks.

A new Rank 3 WATER Xyz Monster allows you to ascend to new heights! If it is Special Summoned, it can add a brand-new disruptive Trap Card that allows you to destroy your Fish, Sea Serpent, or Aqua monster and wipe out 2 cards your opponent controls! This slippery Xyz Monster can also retrieve other monsters from the depths or move an Xyz Material from 1 Xyz Monster to another!

Sharkā€™sĀ Number 32: Shark DrakeĀ emerges from the endless abyss as an all-new Chaos Xyz Monster. Rank Up to Summon this 3100 ATK monster by discarding any Spell Card and using 1 of the existing Rank 4 ā€œShark Drakeā€ Xyz Monsters you control as the Material. It has a Quick Effect that can shut down an opponentā€™s monster effect while reducing their ATK/DEF to 0! This monster can attack twice (even directly) and inflicts piercing damage!

This helps introduce new members/support for the "Armored Xyz", "Blue-Eyes", "Goblin/Goblin Biker", "Millennium", "Number", "Number C", "Ragnaraika", "Red-Eyes", "Sangen", "Shien", "Sinful Spoils", "Six Samurai", "White Woods", and "Xyz" archetypes, as well as the Trap Monster series.

The core booster set for Rage of the Abyss includes a variety of rarities, ensuring there's something for everyone. Here's the breakdown:

  • 10 Secret Rares
  • 14 Ultra Rares
  • 26 Super Rares
  • 50 Commons

24 of these cards are also available as Quarter Century Secret Rare and 1 special card is ONLY available as a Quarter Century Secret Rare!

In terms of gameplay, the new Xyz Summoning equipment is particularly exciting. Xyz Monsters have always been a popular choice for their versatility and power, and this new equipment promises to take them to the next level. By enhancing Xyz Summoning in new ways, these cards can open up fresh strategies and combos, giving players more options than ever before.

For fans of water-themed decks, Rage of the Abyss is a dream come true. The new cards in this set offer plenty of support for water monsters, allowing you to build and refine your aquatic arsenal. Whether you're a fan of classic water monsters or looking to explore new ones, this set provides the tools you need.

Yugioh collectors will also find plenty to love in this set. The Quarter Century rare cards are a major highlight, continuing a popular trend from the past year. These cards are not only visually stunning but also a great investment for anyone looking to expand their collection. The combination of rarity, beauty, and playability makes them a must-have.

YGO Rage of the Abyss is shaping up to be one of the most exciting releases of the year. With 100 new cards, innovative Xyz Summoning equipment, the introduction of a new Big Jaws-inspired monster, and a wide range of rarities, this set has something for everyone. Whether you're a player eager to enhance your deck, a collector hunting for rare treasures, or a water enthusiast looking for new strategies, Rage of the Abyss is sure to make a splash in the world of duelling. Get ready to dive into the abyss and discover the exciting new possibilities this Yugioh set has to offer!
